Great Blue Heron

This magnificent marsh wader was photographed close to the Reedville Marina in Reedville, VA. Normally, herons are skittish around people and frequently fly off as soon as humans are detected. With a wingspan approaching 5 feet, this Blue Heron was within 20 feet and enabled this beautiful shot.
